WCA – Letter to Parents from Pastor Brian Fecher – 3/26/2020

This letter to the parents of WCA students has been released today, March 26, 2020:

Dear WBC/WCA Family:

As many of you are aware, Governor Phil Scott gave order for Vermont schools:

“Gubernatorial Directive 5 – Schools for preK-12 students shall remain dismissed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, unless otherwise ordered by the Governor if the COVID-19 response should allow. Schools are required to have continuity of learning plans for remote learning implemented on or before Monday, April 13, 2020.”

I am personally disappointed – but not surprised.  We hoped for the best and prepared for the worst.  We were hopeful that the school year would resume in-person instruction at some point.

We realize you have many questions.  We have answers.  Tomorrow I will contact as many staff as possible to get their input.  The WCA School Board will hold an emergency meeting this Saturday, March 29, 2020.  After that meeting, we plan to present an initiative within forty-eight hours.

In the meantime, continue with the plans WCA educators initiated with your student(s).  Grading, report cards, continuing distance learning are still in the works – even graduations.  We press on to the marks and plans as God has given.  Do your best . . . God will make up the difference.

Don’t forget that God is not surprised!  He’s got it!  And, He’s got us!  Can’t wait to see God’s hand do beyond what we ask or think

Coram deo
Brian F. Fecher, pastor
