WCA – weekly updates newsletter – week of Friday, October 6th

Here’s this week’s news and updates!

1. Student of the Month Awards

We would like to congratulate the following students who achieved the Student of the Month award! Cyrus Obeng, Amelia LaFrance, Annabel O’Meara, Colin Boudreau, Aidan Thurston, Kennedy Hunt, and James Ainsworth. These students have excelled in showing respect to authority, showing growth in the area of academics, and exhibiting Godly character on a daily basis for the month of September.

Kermit O’Meara and Bianca Benoit won best dressed!

2. Student Mentors will begin October 16th

Student Mentors will begin again starting October 16th. This is something we have used in the past to help support our students and give them encouragement throughout their year. Teachers and staff have been assigned to students to check in with them weekly or bi-weekly to see how they are doing, pray for them, and be a listening ear. WCA is blessed to offer more than just the academic piece in the education experience, and to foster the whole student.

3. Progress Reports

Progress reports will be going home with students on Friday, October 13th. This marks the halfway point for our first quarter!

4. Sixth Grade Fundraiser

Starting this Friday the 6th grade will be selling ice cream and ice pops in the lunch room every Friday until further notice. This is our first fund raiser to support our class trip to the Mystic Aquarium and Sea Port. Please support us in this and enjoy some yummy treats at the same time. Ice pops will be nut free and $1.00 each. Ice cream will be $2.00, individually wrapped and may contain nuts.
